Going one step further I’d ponder the question that actually makes a big difference in whether or not you can gain any value from using Frankincense essential oil, and does it benefit you in the short term, or does this essential oil require a long-term usage.
That being said, let’s dig in and get these questions answered. (watch this video)
The video above is a frankincense essential oil review based on the knowledge that we have come across in our journey with essential oils. We have referenced one book as our guide called, Modern Essentials.
Frankincense Essential Oil Review – Key Benefits
Frankincense is derived from the resin of the Boswellia carterii or Boswellia sacra tree that is commonly grown in Somalia. Where it is sourced does matter. Some companies that sell the oils will state that they own their land and that this is the best way to control the purification process. The Frankincense oil is an oil that has been labeled the “King Oil”. Generally, the is so because of it’s all purpose uses. Take a look at a few of the uses of Frankincense:
- Stress relief
- Skin smoothing (wrinkles, scars, acne, etc)
- Household cleaner
Those are just a few of the ways you can use Frankincense essential oils.
Can Frankincense Essential Oil Be Used Internally?
Many have said that the use of an oil internally is absolutely the wrong thing to do. However, if you’re like most, you can use Frankincense essential oil internally. Of course, there is never a 100% claim for anything as we are all different and can have different reactions. The general population can take this internally.
Like I recently heard a doctor state: “have you seen anyone die from using essential oils internally yet?” “Do the essential oils have the clarification of “may be used for dietary consumption” on the bottle?” There you have it. it is safe for you to use these essential oils internally. Just make sure your literature says it’s safe.
Knowing this and also considering that most of these essential oils are made from the very plant that is listed on the bottle and we eat the plants all day long.
disclaimer: I’m not a doctor and therefore you should consult yours for further advice.
Here’s one doctor that does know what he’s talking about and this is what he says about the uses of Frankincense:
Frankincense oil is used by either inhaling the oil or absorbing it through the skin, usually mixed with a carrier oil such as an unscented lotion or jojoba oil. It is believed that the oil will transmit messages to the limbic system of the brain which is known to influence the nervous system. A little bit of oil goes a long way; it should not be ingested in large quantities as it can be toxic.
If you are purchasing essential oils, avoid oils that say “fragrance oil” or “perfume oil” as these can be synthetic and will not provide the desired health benefits. Instead, look for oils that say “pure essential oil” or “100% essential oil” for the highest quality essential oils. – Dr Axe
That being said, he did say that only “pure essential oil” should be used and that internally taking frankincense is not a good idea in large quantities. Interpretation: Use this oil sparingly if you are going to take it internally. I’d treat this oil like the Oregano oil and use 1 drop per day if needed. The point here is very light usage internally and refer to your doctor if you have further questions.
How Can I Use Frankincense Essential Oil?
As discussed just above here we know that Frankincense essential oil can be used aromatically, internally (neat), and topically.
The king of oils can is used in all different manners and that is why it’s the king of oils. Everyone should have access to this oil, but sadly this is not the belief of the general population – nor will it ever be that way as long as the medical community does things via the prescription methods of treating a virus, sickness, or ailment.
Amazing uses of frankincense essential oil you can use in your everyday life.
- Household Natural Cleaner – Frankincense is antibacterial and because of this very fact, you will benefit greatly from using this as a cleaner. However, I’d suggest other antibacterial essential oils such as any of the citrus essential oils More than that it will last longer than other chemical cleaners.
- Frankincense essential oil is also safe to use topically on any part of your body. I love to use it to clean out any wounds on the body
- Internally – you can use frankincense essential oil internally to help support your body functioning, as well as an antitumor, and anti-swelling.
